NOTES:

  1. There are hundreds of other features. This comparison is only of feature classes where there are differences. Those not listed are available in all products. See our products page for further details on gINT Products.
  2. Can define an unlimited number of report forms within each report type.
  3. The built-in PDF export facility allows you to name the PDFs before the output run (facilitating scripting), appending to existing files, bookmarking pages, and password protecting.
  4. The DXF file format is readable by AutoCAD, Microstation, etc.
  5. Windows Bitmap, JPG, PCX, PNG, PPM, TGA. TIF files are import-only.
  6. ACCESS®, FoxPro®, dBase®, Paradox®, Oracle®, etc.
  7. Microsoft Excel® must be installed for this to work.
  8. Rockworks® and LogPlot® are published by RockWare.
  9. Winlog® is published by GAEA.
  10. Comma Separated Values ASCII file format. Can be read by most spreadsheet and database programs.
  11. Association of Geotechnical and Geo-Environmental Specialists. This is a United Kingdom ASCII file format.
  12. For use with applications such as Surfer®.
  13. Format used by MX Roads by Infrasoft.
  14. EVS® by C-Tech.
  15. Correspondence files are used to map one data structure to another in the import/export process. These are ASCII files and can be generated outside of gINT. The Correspondence Files application merely facilitates the process.
  16. XML = Extensible Markup Language
  17. GEOPAK® software is a road design package that can model some subsurface investigation information.
  18. WinCORE® is a program supplied by the Texas Department of Transportation for the storage and presentation of borehole logs.
  19. Database Queries allow people familiar with SQL (Structured Query Language) to design, store and run queries quickly and to send the results of the queries to the screen or printer or to export the results to a CSV or Excel file.
  20. gINT Rules Code is a VBA-like environment where one can write user-defined programs that are executed on save in Input. gINT Rules can be run in all levels of gINT but gINT Logs does not have access to the code editor.
  21. The final results for any testing can be accommodated by the program. The Lab Testing facility will also perform the data reduction for the following tests: Moisture Content, Density, Liquid/Plastic Limits, Grain Size Distributions, Hydrometer Analysis, Specific Gravity, Compaction, Unconfined Compression, Consolidation, Direct Shear, and Falling Head Permeability. While the gINT Logs and gINT Logs Plus products contain the lab testing input modules, you can output the data using only the available report formats. If you wish to make use of the lab testing feature, you will need the full gINT program to generate graphs.
  22. All gINT products contain a CAD editor that is used in many applications (symbol and report design, preview, etc.). The General Drawings application allows you to edit final output and to create general purpose drawings that may or may not have anything to do with reports or gINT.
  23. Output scripts allow storing and playing back output specifications.
  24. Compares the structures of any two databases and shows the differences.
